Seoul’s Urban Problems
Seoul is one of the most highly populated cities in the world, due to the dense population and high-level of industrialisation Seoul experiences many urban problems. Over the last half last century the focus has been so strongly on economic growth and not at all on the future sustainability. these urban problems are · South Koreas development has become completely dependent on Seoul which is less than 1 percent of South Korea (land). · Elderly poverty problem · No space for new development and growth · The air pollution in Seoul’s is 18 time more per square kilometre then the air pollution in south Korea · Traffic congestion restricts productivity growth – Seoul experiences heavy congestion and public parking difficulty due to the high number of vehicles on the road. The biggest issue in Seoul is maintaining infrastructure to support the residents. |
